The Municipality of Clarington, through the Communications & Tourism Division, hosts the annual Clarington Blooms program. The intent of the program is to recognize the contribution that residents make to the beautification of our neighbourhoods and community as a whole. This is our 13th year and each year the popularity of the program, and the cross-section of participants grows. The growth of the program is due in no small part to the 3 local Horticultural Societies (Bowmanville, Newcastle and Orono) who volunteer on our Executive Committee, judge the nominees and decorate the hall for the ceremony. Now that the sun is shining plans for 2010 are well underway and, as in past years, partnership opportunities are available to our local garden centres.
